Strange things....

Looked at my missed call log the other day on the home phone. Not sure why I still have one but...
Scrolling through the missed calls and on April 30th, I had missed a call from my mom and dads phone.
Mom had passed last November in her 93rd year and Dad in 2019 at 90.

Sent a text to my sister asking if their phone had been disconnected (it was). Could have been a random thing like a telemarketer with a fake local phone number but...

I am really sorry that I missed the call! Maybe mom and dad just forgot that it was a workday and that no one would be home.

Need to take the young gun out for a ball throw.
Came home yesterday to the old girl limping around the house. Not sure what she did to herself but she seems somewhat better today.
She gets the day off!
Cheers, Baz.

Yep, most likely some sort of spoofed SPAM/SCAM call.

You can't fault them for forgetting it was a work day, they're old and presumably retired so it's hard to keep track of what day it is.

That would still be pretty weird.

Strange.
I think it was in the fall of '81, we had just added some new International S series trucks to the fleet and I was covering a route while the driver had some time off. A few miles out of town at about 5:30 AM, I was heading down a long hill through the woods when this thought occurred to me. "Man, I bet a deer jumping on to the road would make a mess of the fiberglass front end."
It freaked me out enough that I got off the throttle and on to the brakes. I got slowed down to just under 50 mph when a big doe came out of the ditch on the left and made it across the road a few yards in front of me.
I try to listen to the little voices in my head.

Best
Les

Years ago I worked at what is now AT&T Wireless. We all got phones and pagers. Many times numbers has been reassigned. A friend ended up with an ex hookers pager and was constantly getting contacted for "services". She called the numbers for a while to screw with the Johns, but quickly got creeped out and turned it back in.
