Baltimore Orioles are Back!
Weather was perfect today...75 sunny and 5mph wind. First time for the Orioles back here...can't mistake their call....it's loud.
Also Woody was back on the suet in the second pic. Hummingbirds were all over the nectar feeder. Turtles loving the sun. (can you spot all 5 turtles?)

They have come and gone here. They didn’t hang around as long as in previous years. Last year they ate a whole jar of grape jelly over about three weeks. This year they didn’t put a dent in the new jar.
OTOH, saw a Scarlet Tananger for the first time ever.

^^^ I wonder why they didn't stay long? Hope the same doesn't happen here.
I've only seen the one pair here....the male is striking in it's color. The only bird that is louder with it's call here....is that pileated woodpecker. I can hear that thing indoors when it's going from tree to tree to get to the suet. I'd love to see a Scarlet Tanager here.

Songbirds have pretty much vacated my area this year...I wondered why. Then, driving home from a medical appointment, I spotted a redtail Hawk...think there's a pair nesting about 1/4 mile away..

^^^ I see redtail hawks around here...I live in a heavily wooded area.
My next door neighbor told me last week that she saw a black fox in her yard at night. I've never seen one here yet.
