Does anyone use Systane Ultra for dry eyes?
My wife uses it every day due to an issue she has with her eyes (doc recommended).
They've recently came out with a Preservative Free version. I am wondering if the new stuff works as well. My wife is super sensitive to many chemicals but has no problem with Ultra so I hate to change and find a problem unless there is an advantage to the PF version. Anyone have actual experience with both? |
I have no actual experience. I can't say about your wife's brand, but my wife had lasik or one of those sort of things, and then also had cataracts, a retinal tear with a resulting vitrectomy. The Drs always said that whatever drops you got, they should always be the preservative free version (my wife always used Refresh brand)
And one additional note/question. Are you talking about Systane Ultra vs Systane Ultra Preservative Free, or are you talking about one of the other Systanes that's preservative free. Systane makes several different types, systane complete PF, systane ultra PF, systane hydration PF, and systane original PF. |
masraum: thanks for the input you got from your wife's doc.
I am looking at Ultra versus Ultra PF. I just hate to change since what she has is working and she doesn't say there are any side effects. Unless there is a compelling reason, I don't want to try something new and it causes a problem for her but I am wondering if Systane will eventually phase out the non PF version of Ultra. |
My wife has serious dry eyes. I don't know which version of Systane she uses, but the doctor told her to use ONLY the Preservative Free option. I don't know why.
