Loved all the Jags being a Jag guy. Had to watch it with the sound off. That guy with the camera is grating. I have seen one wicker car in my life through the dealer window at night while cruising Hollywood on my many Saturday nights spent on the blvd.
I can't even find a pic of wicker on a car. I think the one I saw was painted. I've wondered about that for a lifetime. Last edited by Zeke; 05-31-2024 at 01:37 PM.. Reason: speeling, of course |

Thanks. Possibly an age thing, but I like the Brit cars. Why not? If it weren't for GI's bring MGs and others back here after WWII, the sports car thing would have taken longer to arrive.
My now gone best buddy had a '60 Bugeye, then the last of the MGA's...a '62. Lovely car...totaled when he was stationed in Germany...his baby sis drove a one ton truck over it. Never had a Brit car myself...my loss.

Gorgeous! I'm guessing they were towed in?

Sadly I think those old Brit sports cars are going to go the way of Model As and Tri Chevys. Owners are just going to age out and the cars get parked. I’ve owned a lot of them from XKE to MGs (still own a Triumph Stag) but my sons are their friends show zero interest as they are drawn to E30s and 944s. Makes sense. I was never that into my Dads Model As and he wasn’t bothered by my XKE but we wrenched together. I miss that. And Brit cars certainly taught me to wrench.

They already are. We’ve discussed it a few times in the circle of Brit car owners I’m in.
More Volvos at Carlisle than all the Brit cars combined - and a younger crowd. |
