Scottie Scheffler arrested entering PGA Championship

The world #1 golfer got arrested either trying to drive around a fatal bus accident or misunderstood police directions. It'll be interesting to see how this went wrong. RIP to the guy who crossed in front of the bus and was killed.

Hopefully just a misunderstanding by Scottie . Apparently it was a traffic nightmare due to the fatal accident . Scottie stated he thought he was following the officers instructions . Where the story gets fuzzy for me is Scottie supposedly injured the officer by dragging him along with his car . That's more than being confused on directions.

People do some very stupid stuff at accident scenes. When my ambulance responds to an MVA we have to use firemen to control traffic. Nevertheless there is always one idiot that tries to crawl through the scene.

Not long ago I nearly drove right over a state police officer at an accident scene. Was creeping through, only going a few miles an hour but stopped literally inches from him. I never did really see him, just sensed something wasn’t right and tapped the brake. He was not happy with me and gave me an earful. But I simply could not see him. The LED flashing lights on all the emergency vehicles are completely blinding now and they flash so rapidly the eye doesn’t have a chance to recover between pulses.

Reminds me of a woman out walking her dog one night last year - I was driving by in my truck - VERY slowly and as far over on my side of the road as possible. She still felt the need to shine her damn flashlight right into my eyes. Like that is really going to help me see her and her dog....

You have a point about flashing emergency lights that are too bright. The worst ones I’ve ever seen were in Seattle, their highway patrol had someone pulled over on the side of the freeway at night and the strobe lights nearly blinded me. I honestly couldn’t believe it. There must be some ideal level of lighting and it’s way below that.

I had one instruct me to pull forward, then immediately stepped in front of my vehicle, and got mad at me for "trying to run him over"

If I were driving at night and someone flashed their flashlight in my eyes, we would have words on the side of the road.

I was amazed by the number of lights on the police cars in the videos of this incident. Especially the mustang. It is very confusing coming upon an accident scene in the dark these days.

The last thing they want is for the general public's lasting impression of the PGA in Kentucky to be of the world's #1 golfer being arrested on the way into the golf course.....

Based on past observations, they probably
decided to lock down a 50 mile radius for their convenience
while they stand around and BS.
To hell with the peons,
THEY decide who sits and waits.

Right or wrong, someone who had no patience with incompetence
decided he had enough with their shenanigans.
This infuriated Barney who lunged at the car
as the driver immediately stopped.
This resulted in a charge of 2nd degree assault on a police officer.
Uh huh.
Evidently Barney didn't have time to empty a clip into the car.

Bottom line was that barney was incensed when an
ordinary citizen refused to bow to his greatness.
How dare he challenge Barney's ultimate power
and authority over the traffic universe?

This was demonstrated when Barney grabbed the driver,
who was cooperating and not resisting but was still
manhandled and thrown harshly against the car.
That driver was going to learn a lesson that day,
a lesson that NO ONE EVER challenges Barney's traffic directions
and gets away with it.

Unfortunately for barney, the driver turned out
to be the #1 golfer in the world, there to play in the PGA.
Could have been worse though, if the driver was Lee Elder
instead of Scotty they'd be rioting in the streets and
burning buildings by now.

Sounds like the officer was easily excitable. ESPN was filming and the officer looked in the camera and said "Right now he's going to jail. He's going to jail and there ain't nothing you can do about it"
Scottie was in a Lexus SUV that all the golfers received and it was clearly marked.

I had it happen recently where the cop wasn’t very clear with his hand gestures. So I continued slowly. He walked in front of my car, then to the side giving me an ear full. I still don’t know his problem.

As expected, all charges have been dropped.
Reportedly in exchange for a promise of no civil
litigation against Barney, Barney's supervisors,
the city, or the great state of kuntucky.

If it were me I'd be firing back on all cylinders
but I don't have multi-million $$$ sponsors
who just want it all to go away.
But then again if it were me (or you) we'd still be
facing prosecution for something we didn't do,
because the barnies would be reluctant to admit their
incompetency to the world.

So ... barney will get away with it.
Normally something like this could be career damaging
but chances are barney is related to the mayor in
more than one way so he'll skate.

The big question is,
why does Andy let him have a bullet in the first place?

So the police said: He was given instructions not to drive forward and an officer jumped and clung onto his vehicle where he was dragged for 10+ feet in addition to being struck by the car.

What this video actually shows: The guy on the right waving him forward then a cop coming up and smashing the car with what appears to be a flashlight(?). Not to mention he immediately stopped without dragging any cop anywhere.
