I love the "I don't want something forever" crowd. Tattoos are not forever. When you have a tattoo, you basically forget about it after a few weeks, it's like a mole or dark spin on your skin, it soon (quickly) disappears, becomes part of the background.
For everyone else it remains new, but since they don't ever look at you forever, it's temporary for them as well. I forget mine unless I catch a glimpse of them in the mirror, even then I don't always see them. "It'll be with me forever". That's dumb. Might as well cut your toes off, they're gonna be with you forever too, do you care about them? |

your privledge is showing. i cant say i disagree though. just the other direction, you should be way more scared of polo shirts and techbros and karens than of tattooed folks. a karen will ruin your day, you are about to have a fight. a tattooed person probably wants to pet your dog. |
I do not have one and have no desire to get one.
I understand everyone has a story behind the tatoo. I have seen good artwork and not so good artwork and yes, I'm sure they are expensive. I have done a fair amount of life drawing and anatomy study, and, to me, the human body is magnificent. I don't get the amount of ink everywhere. On a lighter note, I attached a You Tube link from an old SNL skit on Turlington Tatoo Remover. https://youtu.be/vBmvfW7WOUc?feature=shared |
That is funny. And reminds me of my dad's old Playboy's when they had the cartoons of old women with shriveled up tattoos

Like vanity license plates, very few tattoos (almost none) strike me as creative and original enough to be noteworthy.

higgins gunna higgin... a tat is not for those looking and judging, it's for the one who has it done. Forgot to mention my Dr. Suess Sam I am ink, cause I need to be tried some like green eggs and ham to be liked.... |

True story....I was attending a high school function back when FB-ette was still in attendance there. A couple of boys who were friendly with my kids approached to say hello. During the conversation one of them said "Mr Scalora you should know that so and so wanted to date your daughter but we advised him against it because he's not such a good guy." I said "how did you convince him to back off?" They said " we told him that you had her name tattooed on your arm and that he shouldn't mess with the daughter of a man who has her name carved into his skin." Probably no longer exact quotes but close enough. |
Are these still called "Tramp Stamps"? Not judging...just curious what modern day thinking is.....

You could make an argument that finding someone without ink nowadays achieves the same level of social status as finding someone with ink 30-40 years ago, no?

Because I’m a rebel.
