2 Pounder for $18.00 good deal IMO

Great meal, very tasty,

Sorry about the glasses, didn't come with Lobster,...BTW anything much bigger than a couple of lbs can be quite a battle to get
open. You can break the claws and such off the body but you almost need a hammer and chisel to get out the meat, just saying

It's not a photoshop, it's one, 1 uno, McDonald's at a rest stop in CT on 95, one or two years ago. Everywhere else around the country a Big Mac meal is $10.69 give or take.

Fox likes to run the story about the $20 Big Mac over and over to reinforce the recession mantra and no one ever thinks to check the story out. Except for you!

On topic, lobster prices down here in Boston have been fluctuating a lot, ranging from $8.99 to $15.99 abd everything in between on a weekly basis for chicks, up to 1.25 lb. Add $3-4/lb for bigger lobsters like yellow's above. No idea why it's so up and down.

Now I have to get a few for this weekend.

I'm okay with the middle 2. However, lobster with fried chicken, onion ring and potato salad? Or worse, a cold lobstah roll!

Worse is right but sometimes to have to remember why lobster should always be hot. Not my best culinary moment.

Now the lobster and fried chicken, that was glorious! Protein and fat and fat and fat and carbs and fat. The coleslaw was nice too. It really worked

Northeast: "How many pounds per bug?"
Louisiana: "How many bugs per pound?"

I have overnighted lobsters to fellow Pelicans on many occasions and include Kate's Butter, best I've ever had. Next time I see them for under $10/lb I'll send a couple out to you.

In these parts, we get Dungeness Crab, a huge variety of oysters, and some incredible King Salmon. But the North American lobster has never survived the Pacific coast despite being introduced several times from the late 1800s even up to the 1980s. The San Juan Islands in Puget Sound seem ideal given roughly the same latitude as Maine. But no luck. They just don't like it here.

And as a result, I don't think I've ever seen a $10/lb. lobster other than a trip to Montauk in the 90s. We get frozen Australian tails (which are giant by the way) for roughly the same price as Maine lobster.

When I was a kid of 12/13, my family lived in a small mountain town between the Mojave desert and the San Joaquin Valley of CA. My parents were once cureious about what the big deal was over lobster. So they bought a lobster (for a family of 5). They didn't know how to cook it, so my mother baked it in the overn. It turned out like dried shoe leather. We certainly couldn't figure out why lobster was so well liked.

I have seen lobster at $5.99/lb plenty of times. With hot dogs at $8.99. The juxtaposition is good for a laugh.
