Today is the day college football gets turned upside down.

Pac 12 officially gone along with their TV. Longhorn TV network now only a streaming service.

Stay tuned, I bet there is much more to come over the next few years.

No. Please go back to the Little 12, or Big 2 / little 10 conference and try to make something of it.

As the theme song to the James Bond film Skyfall says: This is the end, hold your breath and count to 10.

I love college football. This realignment and NIL will be what kills the thing we love.

Go Dawgs ! :D

I don't like the NIL, but I look forward to more and better games because of realignment.
Sounds like there will be a lot more games on weekdays.

I'm out...no Pac 12 for the Beavers to be ranked in...

Can someone confirm that the majority of players benefiting from the COVID one-year extension are done and graduated? As someone who roots for a team that is still regularly putting 19 year old kids on the field (Clemson), I will be darn glad to not have to watch them line-up against 24 year old men.

Rumor has it that TV's have on/off and channel changing features these days...

Baz 08-01-2024 02:18 AM

23 more days until the opener.......

tdw28210 08-01-2024 05:07 AM

Some surprises on this list, at least to me anyway. Like Louisville ahead of Duke. And UCLA being 2nd to last. And Georgia....yeesh. GO TIGERS!

Here we go.......

(10) Florida State vs. Georgia Tech, Saturday at Noon on ESPN - Aer Lingus College Football Classic

The Seminoles are favored by 10.5 points.

The Aer Lingus College Football Classic will be held at the magnificent Aviva Stadium, built on the site of the former Lansdowne Road stadium, which was demolished in 2007. It is home to the Irish Rugby Football Union and the Football Association of Ireland.

College football in Ireland began initially in 1988 as part of a promotional campaign to mark the Dublin millennium celebrations. Dubbed the Emerald Isle Classic, it was the first NCAA-sanctioned American college football game played in Europe. The game was played at Lansdowne Road in Dublin in 1988 with a crowd of 42,524 in attendance. It featured a 2–7 Boston College team who defeated the 8–1 Army Black Knights 38–24.

The game was intended as an annual event to attract some of the 40 million Americans of Irish descent back to Ireland. College teams with particularly Irish or Catholic background were chosen in an effort to attract Irish nationals to the games.

Anything happening in the PAC 12?

Baz 08-24-2024 09:12 AM

Good game so far.

Tech just scored to take the lead 14-11. Still in the first half...plenty of game left!
