Replacing my 2005 Jeep GC. How is the 2021-22 Honda Pilot?
Looking to replace my aging 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 138k miles on it. Starting to rust a bit, but overall has been good. Only replaced the starter, muffler, water pump and one tie rod. Have owned it for 16 years, and I must say I like it other than the sucky gas mileage with the 4.7L V8.
So my wife likes the Honda pilot, and my only requirement is it has to be able to pull 5k lbs. and get better gas mileage than the Jeep. Anyone have one and is it any good? Don't want to buy new, would rather have a lease return. Thanks for any info. |
Honda Pilot is a solid rig, but 5K might be pushing it for towing capacity.

Daughter has one, they shut down 3 cylinders when you’re cruising. At 60K it cost $3500 to have the rear cylinders done with new pistons and rings. So common there should have been a recall.

Some of the earlier ones had issues with fuel injectors and head gaskets, not sure about the years you listed.
I know because my wife’s 2019 CRV with 56,000 miles is currently waiting on 4 new injectors to arrive. They won’t be doing the work but was quoted $2400 from dealership to repair. |
