Clearest mission statement I've ever read:

"We shall build good ships here. At a profit if we can, at a loss if we must. But always, good ships."

can't pick one. one is a response to the other. after 30 years of cashing out value by hollowing out your engineering and manufacturing, you have to hire them back to fix it. you have to rebuild those departments.

Or you break it up, sell off the profitable stuff, merge, outsource or fold. Either way, the stockholders win.

It is very hard to replace the knowledge lost - time is not your friend and the work environment isn't about staying and growing. It will cost money too, much easier to buy, sell or trade.

Quality, Cost, or Schedule...............and you can only pick 2 out of the 3. Real World.

Picking one comes at the expense of the other two always.

Yea it is all aerospace, although in my corner of the world schedule is king.

But I am very happy to not be with Boeing anymore. I can’t imagine what the morale is at the lower levels.

Yup. Cutting costs as a way of boosting short term profits.

Honestly? I think that's exactly what they are doing.
