^^^ Maxim?
I remember that...even had pics.:) |
Yep, that's him.
Bragging about the high end cars he has crashed. |
That Maxim thing was funny!

Tabs, didn't he have his own website? Radio tabs or similar? I need to lookup some older posts from him. It was linked in his signature line. Richard (motion) is a stand up dude and I do agree there were folks here who took him to task for his success and he likely grew tired of the scene. onewhippedpuppy (Matt) just dropped off as well likely for the negative feedback for his good natured posts about cars. There was another guy who was a auto reseller, cannot remember his name, who also got chased away for his inputs which at the end of the day were helpful to others. Some good times back then. |
If those of you who have me on your "like" list think of bailing you best leave me a forwarding addy.

Todd had a PhD from Caltech, that’s serious horsepower under the hood. Whether that translates into common sense about everyday things is open for discussion but he was a genius. I’m fortunate to call Richard a friend IRL and he is doing better than well. :)

All this is fine, but what about Tabbydoll? Is he still on this planet?
|
Todd did a Ted Talk. He has car/motorcycle/guitar bulimia. But I can relate (too well). I spoke with him a few times recently about getting a guitar. He was selling one that was close to what I wanted and a very good deal. He sold it a day or two before I decided to pull the trigger. He's into his music mostly now, I think.

OWP's car exploits were the best. Lived vicariously through him.

Anyway, the initials somehow made me think of Oddjob uno. But if we start the MIA thing again it will go into the hundreds. People just drop out. There doesn't have to be a reason. I noticed Tabs was posting less frequently. But generally if you called out his name he would respond. Supposedly he is around 70 and once you hit that milestone each year becomes more of a gift. The law of averages changes for no one. Last night I watched an interview by Justin Bell on Alain de Cadenet. Alain died in 2022 at age 76 which I had not heard. He told much of his life story and gave his philosophy which, over simplified, was to enjoy as much of life as possible every day. This included a lot of 'appreciation' for the opposite sex. The first thing I thought of as he explained getting up in the morning and getting going was WTF am I doing here? Maybe Tabs saw that interview way before me. |
Is there some new-ish obituary somewhere tied to his real life name?
