Because it was nonsensical, we would laugh and see if the person hearing the joke for the first time, laughed as well. If they laughed, we really laughed.
I thought it was a joke between him and I and didn’t know anybody else knew about it.

The version we used had chimps in a hot tub . . .
It was our Wardroom intro for all of us Junior Officers. The "what the heck" look on the Boot's faces was priceless. Oh, and we all were victimized by it to one extent or another.
Our battalion Doctor, Dave Reid had the best deadpan delivery ever!!!
