What did I just pick up

Went for a walk at lunch and kicked a cigarette lighter sized chunk of something heavy. Picked it up and it feels like lead. Had a tag screwed into it.

Any idea what it is?

Some of the 'road-hugging-weight' from a Ford Pinto, probably.

Sounds too heavy to be dog poop. That's unless the dog had been eating lead.

Another thought. Was it gold colored.

It's a chunk of something heavy, like lead, with a tag screwed onto it, about the size of a cigarette lighter.

Based on the vague description and lack of picture, it is definitely a whachamacallit or, chuckofstuff.

Sounds to me like a dog swallowed a piece of lead the size of a lighter. And you found the result.

True story: I just got a letter from the Department of Health on syphilis trends and a shortage of Penicillin G benzathine (Bicillin L-AŽ)

I'm glad you picked up something else...

it sure is Leverite, not to be confused with Dicite, that is collectable but Leverite isn't, leverite where you found it.
