New Nissan frontiers

Anyone have one? Things to know, be wary of?
Thank you.

Nos. 1-5: it's a Nissan

In case you can't tell, I'm no fan of the marque.

Not all Nissan's are crap. I have an Xterra that is unbelievably reliable.

Colleague has had 7 Frontiers (or their predecessors) starting in 1982.

Frontier 5 blew a head gasket at about 100k miles, all the rest ran like clocks until they were sold, usually at the 100k mile point.

I know Frontier 1, 2 and 3 had rust issues...but Frontier 4 and beyond were rust free when sold.

He has a 2023 now, loves the thing......I think it is a Pro 4X

Thanks everyone.

I spent 7 years with a Titan XD Cummins. I like the looks of the Frontier. My only comment is related to Nissan's lack of support for their larger trucks. I found the dealerships to be crap. It was actually a great truck. They just couldn't figure out how to support it and their customers. If you are looking at used, not a big deal. I would not buy a new Nissan truck.

YOu might need to worry about Nissan itself. Not sure what kind of cash they have on hand, but a $6.5 million quarterly profit (a 99% drop) is NOT good for any global car company's long term outlook. Especially when they were projecting $1B for the quarter earlier in the year. How does a management team screw up THAT badly?

Two reasons: partly owned by Renault, and they don't know their marketplace.

In the 80s they were neck and neck with Toyota, but have lagged behind ever since, and once Carlos Goghst'n got involved it got worse.

That said, Ive done in a company Nissan truck the same trails in god awful conditions that Toyota trucks have done, without worry.

They look nice, but it seems the drivetrain is rather old.

I read recently that the Nissan frontier was one of the top 10 worse 2024 cars - but no first hand experience.

I have had nissan trucks since the late 70's ( when It was Datsun) . Typically get over 400K miles on them with very little maintenance other than changing the oil every 2,500 miles. I always purchase the 4 cyl and a stick. Doubt I will continue being a Nissan customer when I replace my current frontier

I have a 08 Frontier V6. Had it 15 years. Solid and very reliable. Other than the usual routine maintenance items, I've only replaced a leaky washer bottle and a power window switch. And I can park it just about anywhere. Turn the key and go. Never let me down.

Friends of the wife bought one a month or so ago. Some ‘unmissable’ deal to take one off the lot…
They seem to like it so far.
