Hospital bed sheets - Anyone have a source for good ones?
If you know, you know.....
I want to buy sheets for my niece that will fit her hospital bed; they need fit very well as to not bunch up and cause bedsores, be high enough in quality to be comfortable and durable enough to last a while with constant use and frequent laundering. Fun patterns would be a definite plus. I've looked at online reviews; as usual, the marketplace for anything is full of products sold as top quality, reviewed well on review sites, but judged poorly by consumers.

Excellent idea about the retirement facility! I didn't consider that and there's one not too far from where I live! Thanks!

Amazon has a bunch but they are mainly solid colors, white, blue and I think I saw a light purple.
If you want to have something fun, tie dye them. |

Having purchased bunches for film and TV you're looking for "Twin Long". Usually you have to go with solid colors (beige, blue, green). otherwise we had to "short sheet the beds or double up.
Fitted will be tough, hospitals are all about "cost" so they buy a bunch of flat sheets and double the bottoms and call it a day. You can buy from a medical supplier (Medline) but you have to buy by the dozen. Sometime 6dz at time. I used to buy from these guys but you have your choice between beige (bone) or blue. And they sell by the dozen, ask for twin long, they have them or can suggest someone who can get what you need. https://acmelinen.com

Hrm... when I worked in a hospital there was a big difference in the sheets, random luck/draw kind of thing.
No fitted sheets - they were wide enough to tie a knot with the corners and have that act as a fitted sheet.

Dang. I hate how you need these.
![]() best wishes to the family. what about cutting down some awesome 600 thread count sheets to fit? and then hemming the edges? I dont recall fitted hospital linens. they are the multi-tool of sheets. I've seen nurses move patients with them.

Doing a Google search for twin long, brings up only twin XL. Are they the same thing?
What is the width and length of a twin long? Sheet Set Size Chart Twin Flat Sheet 66" x 96". Fitted Sheet 39" x 75" Twin XL Flat Sheet 66" x 96". Fitted Sheet 39" x 80" Last edited by A930Rocket; 12-26-2025 at 07:11 PM.. |

Thanks to everyone. I really appreciate all the input.
The problem with hospital beds is, because the mattress tilts up and down, the sheets have to fit very, very well to keep from bunching; the bunching causes bedsores, so I'm just trying to drill down to some really good ones right from the hop; I hate reading reviews on products; it seems like no matter what, someone always has a good reason to offer up one star! Too much choice! (id1ot, thank your for that information. I didn't know! ) (Vash, I like your thinking. I may look into that if all the other avenues turn up empty. Thank You!!!) (A930 - I'm not sure what the sizing of TwinXL is, but unless I misunderstood, she's getting a queen size hospital bed. When it finally gets here I'll know more. I'm trying to do some homework before the bed arrives and needs sheets! Thank you for your effort!!)

Traditional hospital sheets are awful. They don't fit as well as you think they should. And the texture is rough.
If it were me, I would try to find sheets that have full elastic around the entire sheet, rather than just at the corners. Like this example from the Company Store. They have lots of patterns and fabrics.
