New iPOD - PDA?

According to Apple's site, the new iPOD in addition to MP#'s & storage can function as a calander/contact list? Can I use it to replace my aging PDA? Is battery life reasonable?

Depends on what version iPod. The newest ones (3rd generation) are about 7 hours of battery life. The older ones are more like 9 or 10 (depending on how often it hits the hard drive).

Using iSync, you can have your contacts and calendar on the iPod, as well as notes. The problem is there is no way to do direct data entry on the unit...read only. If that's all you need, then it can be useful. The calendar is a little pokey, but it does work as advertised.

I need to be able to add information when I'm out and about, so I'm stuck still using a Palm.

I finally did get iSync to behave though...it is pretty cool being able to have sync between my home and work machine, Palm pilot, iPod, and v60i phone.
