m96 Porsche engine tear down

Heard so much about this engine over the last 25 years, IMS, bore scoring, Overblown issues, underblown issues etc. Can honestly say I really didnt know how the engine was put together until seeing this video. It has some architechture I was unaware of and found bizzare, like the main bearings on a separate subassembly

A long watch but I enjoyed every min, this youtuber dissembles core engines every week. Great channel

Sure couldn't argue with his "why" at the video end...

I zoned out while watching... Cool video that clearly demonstrates how complicated modern engine and their support systems have become.

- Lots of black plastic moldings, hoses, pipes, wires...

I watched one being built at Rennsport and was surprised at how relatively easy it was considering all the mystery about them.

What’s the story on that motor? Can’t imagine it’s a weekend cruiser/daily driver.
