I’ve been tasked with scheduling a step deck load for my agency and am the point of contact with the driver. Today, I called to get his information and inform him about the standard federal facility rules (no firearms, weapons, or ammunition). During our conversation, he mentioned that he carries a large boonie knife but assured me that he’s a good guy and not to worry... I held in a laugh and told him to make sure to tuck it away.

How does a boonie knife compare to a bowie knife?

LOL! Reminds me of when you're buying something from someone or selling something to them, and they want you to just trust them.

One is a is a fixed-blade fighting knife created by Rezin Bowie in the early 19th century for his brother James Bowie.

The other is an indiscriminate blade carried by men living in the boonies that can't afford a Bowie knife.

This week, we had a patient was needing help getting dressed after a procedure when a pistol fell out of his clothing.

Borrowed? .....Never!

I had no intention of returning them :D

I thought it was a typo, so I googled it and actually there is a difference.

Based on the classical knife made in Sheffield, England by Wade & Butcher before WW2 this knife is a handy all-round hunting knife for skinning large and medium sized game and/or for cutting light shrubbery, under brush, etc.
