Some masonery help needed
My sister lives down in Perth and has had a pool built to exercise in. It's a couple of years old now and recently she complained of the tiles coming off the outside of it.
She claims it's due to the thermal expansion differences between the base and the tiles. It gets dang hot down there and the tiles are black. She's had problems getting any help down there as the guy who did the original work moved back to England. What would you guys that work with stone recommend she use to put the tiles back up. Here are some old pictures of her pool and the tiles. Thanks for any recommendations. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1728662389.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1728662389.jpg |
Send a email to MAPEI, they make products for this application and should know how to properly do it. I am curious where the bond failed on the stone or on the wall? Nice looking pool!

Thanks!
I'm not sure but I 'think' it was on the tile not the wall itself. My sister did most of the design of the pool and pump house. |
Your sister did a great job. What an awesome back yard!

LATICRETE 254 Platinum. That made for constant submersion. Use a Portland cement based product and wait or keep dry for 14-15 days until cure time is complete. Not sure if they can get Laticrete product there. Mapei also makes a great product. Call their rep and theya re sold world wide

Trekkor is a tile guy I think. It has been a while since I have seen him post around here.
