Fall colors are on!
They say we are a week from peak colors....but I like the start because the greens are mixed in, instead of gone.
Took this pic 10 min. ago of my neighbors old maple trees. My camera doesn't capture the sharp colors....but they are there. :) 70 degrees and sunny here today....perfect fall weather! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729281155.jpg |
Gorgeous! My trees are showing some color as it is finally getting cold at night. I have a large sugar maple that turns orange. I absolutely love that tree!

Spring time here down under. The beaches were as packed as during the best days of summer.
|
Many of our trees are already dropping leaves.
|
Some more near my home. Love the bright yellows.

I do miss the fall colors (but not the cold and the barren trees after the leaves drop). Everything around here stays pretty much green year round. They say if it’s got color it probably didn’t originate here.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729601298.jpg Amazing how it can change in a day. Yesterday was gorgeous so I thought I’d drive the convertible. Next day, definitely past peak. |
Was at my NW WI retreat to fish and close late last week/weekend. Colors were at or just past peak when I arrived. By the time I headed home yesterday, the popples had all dropped their leaves and the only colors were the oaks, few maples and tamarack.
Had to drive to Hayward early Friday morning and the scenery was very, very nice with the morning sun illuminating everything Made me happy that I did not wait until this weekend to travel north. Couldn't buy a Bass, Pike or Crappie. However, the Bluegills, especially larger Gills were on bloody fire. (Not too proud to fish Gills) We boated over 100 in a couple of hours on Saturday morning before having to quit due to other commitments. They were still going strong Sunday morning. The views on the lake were spectacular. |
