Rebel Racing Clint

Not sure where to post this because I don’t know anyone that knows Clint directly.

Just trying to see if he’s alright, or alive?

I’ve been chatting with him for months and he’s been working on a bbk for me. We were in contact about a month ago when the parts were off to the plater. I haven’t heard from him since then.

Does anyone know him more personably that might be able to reach out to see if he’s ok?

I know this is off topic and there are a ton of other threads regarding his lack of communication but over a month has got me concerned.

Thanks
Scott

After all this years of forum reading, I believe you have been Clinted

What’s does being clinted entail?

There are many threads regarding his communication style or lack there of… I am a happy customer though, just ordered from the site. Products were very nice quality and are still going many years later.

Yes he's alive. I actually randomly saw him driving down the street just today. His shop is in Morro Bay about 35min north of me. He did a lot of great work on my car years ago. I called him a couple months ago for some parts and he answered the phone and was very much available.

I find it interesting that some of the best, seem to have the worst communication skills.

In the same boat as you OP. Ordered nearly $2k in suspension parts for my 86 a few weeks ago. No updates, only reached out once the other day asking if there is an estimated ship date. Heard nothing but great things about his parts. Was hoping to put this stuff in before it gets too cold up here in the Northeast, but based on the shipping times I'm seeing now, it's not looking too promising.

^^^^ I feel you will get your parts. 15 or so years ag0 we did some business with Clint. Products were good, but as a business, we need responsiveness and communication.

Plenty of threads about lack of responsiveness, but have not heard that someone did not ultimatley get their parts in the end.

Cheers

Anyone heard from Clint? I need a couple replacement pieces and would like to order some new stuff as well. Everything I have on both of my cars suspension wise is Rebel, I’d like to keep it that way but I’ve tried emails, multiple calls to both lines, the message box on the webpage…. Nothing…

Anyone hear anything lately? I placed a $7k+ order at the beginning of December and he was very responsive and said everything was ready to go but he was waiting on my coilovers to get in from KW which should be at the end of january. In the middle of January I asked if he could ship the rest of the order without the coilovers and he asked what my timeline was, I told him the week of the 27th. it's been way past that and now I can't get a response from text, email or phone.

If I don't hear anything by tomorrow I am going to need to go through the chargeback process with my credit card since I only had 60 days to do it.

Did you hear anything back? I hate to shop elsewhere but if this is how it’s going to be to get a few replacements and some new gear, not worth it.

Best to order 2+ years in advance.....

I ended up texting saying I was going to do a chargeback since I wasn't getting any response. The next day I got an email that most of the order shipped. I waited a few more weeks to see if he'd ship the coilovers but never got anything and never got a response. Ended up going through paypal yesterday to get a refund. I also noticed the coilovers increased in price over $1k on his website so maybe he undercharged me and this was his way of dealing with it?
