Anyone planning on watching the parade?

The Macy's parade used to be a fun, family friendly event. Not anymore. I have no interest in plastic singers pushing their new pop hit or Broadway musicals. Heck, they hardly ever sing or play Christmas songs.

The final nail in the coffin was last year with the all alphabet letters marching band. I don't care what you want to do in your private life but I don't want to have your agenda thrown in my face.

So, does anyone watch the parade anymore?

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering how the thread has had no viewers but still got a one star rating. Hmm, can the mods view a thread without it registering?

I see it a lot, I think there is a least one person who doesn’t like you that for some reason gets some sort of satisfaction by giving a thread you started a one star just because of you.

Anyways, since I’m here, I didn’t even think about the parade until I saw this post. Not sure if I ever have watched it in my entire life- seen snippets of it, but probably never actually watched much of it.

I’m going to go give you five stars to make myself feel like your hero!

It's me .... I just don't like Joe ....

I use mobile and don't see 'em tho...

If someone has given 1, then you give 5, it becomes 3 with 2 people voting .... total nonsense.

It's a PARF spillover.... Lubey, PWD (might be pool forum), and quite a few .... from years ago when I did see 'em...

Never seen it to my knowledge. Grew up w/o TV, when we finally did get one (needed it for a monitor for a C64) it was PBS and a local ABC station only OTA broadcast, so never had the right channel available. When I finally got cable, I just didn't care.... No TV again, and I still don't care.

However... I'll probably try to find some footage of the Houston parade since a quasi-family member (dad's first wife's nephew) is a float maker and has one in that parade - 4th gen float maker originally from Italy

It's no longer a parade as I remember them. The TV coverage is all about Broadway shows and more commercials than I can tolerate. Give me marching bands. cool cars and floats.

The try to catch it when he on during thanksgiving and when I can get out, play it on the jukebox.. Sadly, yesterday I didn’t have any choice but to tolerate the crap.

The marching bands were great, except they only played for like 20 or 30 seconds (or so it seemed).

I couldn't find Alice's Restaurant on air so I Tubed it. Saw Arlo do it live once out here in Waterloo Village.
