Motive power bleeder fix?

As I mentioned before here, I was having problems building pressure. Well I got a refund and bought another one. T I’m a bit dissapointed with the new one, just feels flimsy and doesn’t hold pressure well.
Well I was able to keep the original one which I am thinking maybe I can drill a hole and put a tire valve on it. 2 questions, besides drilling a hole and jamming rubber tire value through, do I need anything else like a greese or glue?
2nd, do you think it would work? I’d hate to just toss it.
Thanks.

It'll work. Done it before for other applications on other sprayers. If the area isn't really sorta flat a normal slotted schrader valve stem may have trouble sealing, but some silicone or gasket maker should do the trick. If you have or get an alloy valve stem with a nut, almost certain to work.

I got the valve on. The top leaks air so I need to figure out how to seal that. Shouldn’t be too bad.

Put a valve in mine years ago. Just use air pressure, no fluid.

Why not get a spare master cylinder cap , install an air fitting and just use a compressor ? Turn the regulator down to 8-10 psi and go . Fill the MC to the very top and keep an eye on it . This of course assumes you have an air compressor .

Yes, this is the right answer. Unless you bought a Motive Power bleeder and you want to use it in some way or form...

I’d rather not hook my compressor up to my car. Next thing you know I’m blowing brake lines. A bike pump is pretty controlled.
I’m surprised that I got two of these and they are both poor quality. The one that did work I could certainly tell when it was adding pressure or doing nothing. I had to pump with the handle at a bit of an angle.
Great idea, bad quality.

This is what I did, many years ago. 2 regulators, one on the compressor, and another low pressure with a gauge & dryer. As I recall I would set the second at 5 lbs.

Mine cracked a hose, which made a mess, then the tank itself had a seam issue - leak. Threw it away and got a german made one last time pelican had a sale. Have not tried it yet but motive disappointed me, the concept is cool, the execution is low quality (or I was unlucky)
