Have you ever had a pedicure?

Wifey got one today and is raving about the experience. She said I ought to get one too for the foot massage alone. She said there were a couple of dudes in there getting some kind of treatment and they don’t look like they play for the other team. I’m dubious so I thought I’d ask you fellas if you’ve ever had a pedicure. What say you?

No

Not a pedicuire...but do visit a podiatrist. Usually a nail trimming involved. Part of the diabetes care. Tobra can fill you in on what that entails.

I have, many times. They are great and let’s face it, they can trim nails much better than I can.

My feet felt great for days afterwards. I was running a LOT those days and my feet took a beating. First time was strange-ish but was comfortable quickly. I later saw a couple guys there at the same time.

Do it.

Not me.

But my dog gets a pedicure every couple of months.

My Dad, a three war Marine got them later in life and he really liked the experience. Not a demonstrative type of Man, but he recommended them. Maybe I should get one in his honor.

Does my 11yo daughter/vandal's defacing of my big toenail count? I'll save you the pic, but the dusty rose really works with my foot's complexion.

Now a foot massage? That I can get behind! I had one to remember in Nanjing. I'm about as "woo-free" as they come - a product of and a lifelong fan of industrialized western medicine - but this experience made me wonder... She'd be doing her thing on my feet and I'd start feeling/twitching/etc in far distant parts of my body. As if things are connected with magic, or possibly nerves. I'm not certain, but I do want more!

I got one with my eldest child as a bonding experience. My nails never forgave me, they have some weird spots and a "wave" ever since. Not a fan.

Shortly after I had my hip replacement, there was noo way in the world for me to trim my toenails. I got a recommendation too a local place. I only went once. I did not care for it personally, but by toenails were trimmed.

I had one a little over 30 years ago. A lady I was friends with gave me one as a surprise present. It was strange being tricked into going to a salon. I liked it, but never repeated the experience. Just didn't see the need of it.

Mine doesn't do anything. Looks at my feet, does the touch test with a nylon toothpick, then see you next year.

No! Great way to pick up a fungus or wart with shared equipment…

I don’t need it either. I have very good feet, even hiking, running, walking a lot. No callouses or nail issues. So they are very low maintenance.

And let a total stranger touch my pink toenails?

No....

flatbutt 12-07-2024 01:43 AM

Oh heck no not even a manicure despite the prefix.

KFC911 12-07-2024 03:37 AM

I've given this a lot of thought now ...

If she is Barbara Eden then I'd be at Floyd's every happy feet hour ... 2 feet for 1 pink toes special ... and tip bigly :D

I dated a pedicurist for several years, and now that I think about it, I never asked her for one!
