Thought I would give small business owners a heads up. If the BOI is not filed before Jan 1, 2025 could be $10,000 fine. Moderater, if this needs moved to PARF move but do not delete. |
and now there is this... unconstitutional

Our accountant just made us aware of this, and we filed . Our company will be dissolved as of the first of the year anyhow .

Did mine a few weeks ago. Very annoying, very intrusive.
I ONLY knew of it because someone at the bar mentioned it, and he ONLY knew because someone else mentioned, etc. How can they enforce such a thing when probably 50% of small business owners have never heard of it? |
How can they enforce it?
Easy, probably by mail. Did not hear of this until now. I will hang my hat on the injunction. from their website Quote:

All of the info is what the IRS likely has on file anyway if you are not a tax cheat. I did mine months ago.
They are really looking for people that own part of a company, and take money out, and not report it that income. |
and now it is constitutional again ............
On December 23, 2024, the Fifth Circuit issued an order granting a stay of the December 3 nationwide injunction against the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) that was originated in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Effective immediately, the CTA’s beneficial ownership reporting requirements are reinstated. The Fifth Circuit order did not delay any reporting deadlines, and FinCEN has not released any statement on the matter. Given that the government’s reasoning in requesting a stay of the nationwide injunction was in order to enforce its previously existing deadline of December 31, 2024, reporting companies are advised to file Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Reports by the deadline and comply with the CTA as they had done before the December 3 nationwide injunction. We will continue to monitor the developments in this arena, including any public statements from FinCEN, regarding applicable reporting deadlines. |
Horrible. Gov't is adopting a 'prove to us you're not a criminal' attitude and it is bull****.
Particularly when we've seen over the past 4 years just how willing so many in the machine are happy to abuse power for personal vendettas. |
stupidest GD thing ever, their website is for ****
it would not take an image of my passport, so I could not file |

https://www.hklaw.com/en/insights/publications/2024/12/corporate-transparency-act-nationwide-injunction-in-place-again per fincen.gov... not required https://fincen.gov/ Beneficial Ownership Information Reporting In light of a recent federal court order, reporting companies are not currently required to file beneficial ownership information with FinCEN and are not subject to liability if they fail to do so while the order remains in force. However, reporting companies may continue to voluntarily submit beneficial ownership information reports. More information is available on our website. |
