A few years back (quite a few) had an F1 gaming set up

It was a GP 3 and GP 4 PC game and it was great. The graphics were terrific and I had a lot of fun with it. Wore it out in fact, so now I m thinking of getting a new set up. Best buy has some nice setups (I only glanced at it while helping my wife with her Xmas shopping).

Anyone have any tips on what might be a good setup, if anyone is still in this stuff.

Like to hear from you.

Was that like Iracing on a home sim?

This is Ferrari's old sim, team upgraded to a new one not long ago

If it's still for sale, I can ask a friend for you before it's put up on Craigslist

I had this one...Playseat used with PlayStation about a dozen years back.
Fun..it had wheel feedback and I had about 10 game discs. (can't remember the names)

iRacing is phenomenal. laser mapped tracks and really good physics.

Pair that with a Fanatec wheel and pedals.

VR is cool but I need to find some VR goggles that I can wear with my prescription glasses.
VR can replace big screens but I prefer having the big monitor.
Just upgraded from 3 monitors to a single 57 inch curved screen.
No motion instead a butt kicker shakes the seat on the gators.
Get a direct drive steering wheel system.
Iracing is incredible.

Fortunately my 2 local tracks Laguna Seca and Big Willow are on Iracing.
I always get a few hundred practice laps on the sim before I race my vintage car at these tracks.
Provides a lot of driver confidence during my first session in my car on the real track.

Wow, doing it right

There are companies out there that make prescription contacts for the VR goggles.

Place it on the lenses, and it does the correction without you need to wear the glasses.

If you're the only one wearing the headset, might be a good option.

That or get smaller glasses.

VR offers better control, as you can "lift up" to see over the nose when parking, or move the head a little left to bring an object into view in a mirror.

But most VR setups lack field of view.

If racing open wheel, open wheel helmets tend to have narrower fields of view for more protection.

I think it's great to have both the VR or the single ultra wide screen monitor.

If I had to chose just one I like closed cockpit sims, and would pink the single ultra wide screen monitor.
For shooting/flying games, I have no words to describe the goodness of binary vision and depth perception VR offers.

Budget?

My pedal cluster died (XBox), so I am looking as well. I like the Fanatec gear but it's expensive.
