No Man's Land Walked So Fast & Furious Could Run
In 1987, Charlie Sheen starred in a movie about stealing Porsches in Los Angeles called No Man's Land. In it, a rookie cop infiltrates Sheen's gang of car thieves posing as a mechanic. He then falls for Sheen's sister and becomes best friends with Sheen, but it ends dramatically.
The car chase is alright, the Porsche mechanic's knowledge is on point, and it's a watchable movie, but it hits SO MANY of the same plot points as the original Fast & Furious movie! It's unbelievably similar.
If you're a Porsche fan, it's a fun diversion. Against All Odds has a better chase scene, though. |
Hollywood is so unimaginative, they have to make remakes over and over

Well, given that the Sheen movie came long before the other, don't blame it for copying the later movie...
There are only so many ways to make a movie. They say that there are more than 700,000 movies in the world. I just watched the third iteration of The Day of the Jackal. |

if you think there are only a handful of plots, you need to watch better movies. ie, look for the ones that arnt popular.
i enjoy the third fast and furious most. dunno why. something about **** box and viper racing through a construction site just does it for me. |
Explains a lot...

Jackal...what a great movie. Original has a great vibe while the Bruce Willis version is a bit much in some ways but still good.

There’s a new series on Peacock…

Many years ago, lots of folks talked about No Man's Land as being a good movie because of the P-car content. I saw the DVD for sale at Blockbuster (yeah, long time ago) for less than $5 (may have been $2 or 3), so I bought it. I thought it was so bad and the chase scene was so lame, that I never watched it again. Ugh, horrible.
