Two weeks for FedEx to deliver a package 30 miles!
I bought a few things from Pelican earlier this month. I live about 30 miles from their warehouse, so it usually takes a day or two for the package to arrive.
This one took two weeks! Check out the adventure the package took before it got to me! ![]() Pelican sent replacement parts after a few days, so I refused delivery of the original package so it would go back to Pelican. |

FDX is imploding. Once Fred Smith retired last year and the bean counters took over, it was doomed. Pilots are going on 3 years of contract negotiations, they dissolved Express and consolidated into Ground, who are all contract companies, they are spinning off Freight and are outsourcing a lot of the air freight. Their main goal now is appease the shareholders.. Anything they can do to save money, they will do it.. at the expense of the customer.. Avoid them like the plague..

Sounds a bit like when I bought a rifle scope from Amazon. I even paid extra for expedited delivery. It took months to get to New Zealand. Pelican takes between three days and a week.
I read somewhere that the intellectuals at Amazon think if it's not America it must therefore be Europe. Hell, most people went to school and have a vague idea of where New Zealand is. |

I hesitate to post on threads like this because Pelican is our host but the place I buy my parts from drop ships them from a local warehouse the next day after ordering, almost without exception, and their prices are cannot be beat. Not sure if the speed is the same everywhere in the USA but the supplier they use, (same as PP's main one), is everywhere afaik.
I don't know what extra step Pelican is adding to slow things down so much...do the parts arrive in a PP box? My stuff arrives in a plain box. I once placed an order in the morning and it arrived the same day. ![]()

I wonder if they reused a box and hadn’t removed some old address and it got sent there first.

That package came out of the same warehouse in Carson where all of my parts come from, (generally), if Pelican drop-ships, it should have been on his doorstep the next day at the latest. One difference is that my place uses the USPS, not UPS.
