Ms Rocket asked me about the text she got today. Same USPS scam text. Every time she gets one, she asks me what it is….

I just got another that's from a local Houston number that just says "hello." Nope!

I blocked the sender on my phone, but before I got around to hitting the "hide alert" button on my PC, I got this follow up.

I suspect that actually works on some people because some people wouldn't want to make someone mad or hurt someone's feelings.

At least they've got the right state now, and the originating number is in the US (but Cali).

I always tell them to send a video with the goat and then we’ll talk. You need to find fun where you can in this life, even if only for a brief moment.

I got one today that they haven’t seen me since December and wanted to get together.

I actually got a real one of those toll messages, but by mail. Once the scammers invest in postage we are in trouble. The pic of the car was a Corvette with a similar personal plate that they traced through DMV to the Boxster. The image wasn't clear enough to make out all the plate. I simply sent a pic of a Boxster and told them to compare the rear ends of each. Plus the plate we had as opposed to whatever that plate said.

Got a polite letter back telling me they were wrong.

Surprising outcome from that sort of entity.
