Wireless computer monitors
Anyone use one? I want to be able to put two monitors in the shop that are connected to my computer.
|
I didn't know there was such a thing, but if your TV does it why not.
It would still need power. |
I'd be worried about latency, ~50ms of latency would be a very frustrating experience when moving the mouse around.
Why not use a little Nuc PC near the displays. |
Looked at this a couple years ago - depends on the use. Actively working on it like a desk monitor wasn't going to pan out, to much lag. Streaming something would be OK but there's alternatives to that.
What were you thinking to use it to do? |
Thanks guys. In my old shop I had a Mac Mini and monitor in the layout room where I would lay out finished parts for pics and also build things like chrome door handles. Gave those to my gf on the move. The layout of the new shop I thought wireless would be easier and better, just looking at pics on a 42" screen. I wonder if I should just get a new screen and run 20 feet of HDMI or whatever to run a monitor on the wall.

The more wireless technology we have the more we realize hardwiring works best.

It turns out 50' of HMDI is silly inexpensive so going that route. Just got all of my RapidAir in the ceiling, what's another hour of running cable.

Yeah, if you can do wired, it's almost always better. |
You still using your Nikon to photograph the parts Shaun?
|
I haven't for some time Scott but only because I haven't done any social media posting in 2 years. Have way too much business and the last thing I want to do is attract more. That said, I'm doing work for a few cars now that I will have to photograph at Amelia and Pebble this year so the camera will be put to good use then.
