Welding to an electric motor casing

The spot welds on the mounting bracket to my tumbler motor all failed. Easy to weld it back on but should I pull the armature out of the motor first? It's a basic single phase 3/4 hp motor.

Knowing how easily the thin insulation on the windings can be compromised, I would strip it down to the casing before welding.

You don’t have to pull the armature.

Heat is the enemy of electric motor windings so I would strip it down.

Cover should come off pretty easy without a major teardown?
But isn't the mounting bracket part of the motor itself?

As I should have known, there's a bearing on both ends of the spindle and removing the pulley end one would have destroyed that one. So with both ends loose/off, I drilled new holes in the mount and sanded a clean finish on the case and welded away. Back together, works perfectly. That said, I measured the bearings and have ordered new ones so I can replace them at some point. Thanks for the replies.

Tthe mount/bracket/cradle is spot welded to the case.

What about glue + mechanical type fastener instead?
Anything nearby to grip onto?

(edit-too late)

It's been working all day, and the tumbler has new vigor, so it must have been soaking up some of the oscillation for quite some time giving up the ghost today.
