Happy with car repair
So plenty of posts out there about shoddy work and being ripped off . This is the opposite . So my wife's Volvo XC90 was due for brakes . With 106,000 miles the rotors were getting thin it was just time . Plus the pads were very messy not wheel friendly at all .
I just didn't want to deal with it . So last week I went to our local small town tire shop and got a quote . Around $830.00 so I made an appointment for Friday the 17th . Dropped the car off Thursday before they closed . So they installed four new rotors , ceramic brake pads and did a brake fluid flush . They also patched one tire that picked up a metal shard . When they called to say it was ready for pickup I asked to confirm the price as I was paying cash . He said out the door with tax $750.00 . I was happy . When we picked it up I asked if there were any issues . He said it went exactly as planned . I asked if the pads needed to be " bedded in " and he said already done . Car drove perfect on the way home with braking as straight as an arrow . There are good shops out there . When you find one keep going back . |

NICE!
Side comment. My wife is always disappointed with service people. Cars, appliances, contractors. You name it. I said to her "who are you comparing their work to?" (Knowing full well, it was ME!) She didn't say anything. I suggested that she was in fact doing an LWJ comparison. And, that I apparently had a track record of success. While the comparison makes perfect sense to me. (The fact that I do great work) She wasn't buying it. Darn. Marriage is tough. |

G'day!

Glad it all worked out, Rick. How it should be.
I had a very positive experience getting new tires on the Volvo recently. Indeed there are good shops out there.

I have been dealing with the same small shop for just over 40 years. I have bought 11 vehicles from them in that time and they do the bulk of service work for us. I remember when the current owner was a kid, washing cars in his father's dealership.
I have happily recommended them to friends and family. Parsons Motors, Middleton, Nova Scotia. Tell them Les sent you. ![]() Best Les
