Weekly in the summer to early fall.... we have a pool. So, do they want to actually spend time with us or just take advantage of our pool? As for reciprocity, not so much anymore. When we were youger it seems as if we were always going to someones house or always folks coming to our house.

Pre-Covid, a hell of a lot. Now, maybe 1X wk.

Trying to more. Maybe every 2 weeks or so lately when I'm home.
It's really stressful cause I want to be really good and make stunt food and I don't let myself have any fun and I don't let ms gogar help. Hardest part is the timing of all the stuff. Everyone seems really impressed though and still I can't have any fun |
We (rather I) entertain about 4 times per year. Vicki obsesses about the house being clean enough while I take care of everything else. It's always a matter of me cooking a big meal, because that's what I know how to do. I try to stay out of it, but I start hitting the wine about an hour into the cooking. By the time everyone sits down to eat I'm pretty smashed. Happens every time, but I get so nervous about people being around that I have to relax somehow. Yoga and food prep do not go together.

Kegger at Fifteen’s!

several times a year at least, probably monthly on average. One “big” party during the holidays, probably 30-40 people. Other than that usually 4-6 people at a time max…

When our kids were younger, 8-16 years we hosted their friends and families over every two weeks. Some brought food or beer but normally we had it all covered, stupidly. So around 10-15 alternating folks with the occasional 25+ every couple months. School friends and or sports teams. Only 1 of those families reciprocated.
Now we are empty nesters so we have new friends who share hosting 1x a month. Much better overall and without the kids/sports the group is much more like minded and in the same stage in life. |
Does this include key parties?

I don’t know if it’s sad to say, but we haven’t entertained anybody in years. We go to a couples house, who are we are good friends with. She loved to cook and his steaks are excellent. It’s really so much better and fun than eating at a restaurant, as we can take our time and talk to our hearts content. We’ve asked about having them at our house, but they always want to cook. We bring dessert and wine.
As far as family goes, we are not close and don’t have any get togethers. Of course, we’ve lived out of state 30 years, while they still live in Atlanta. |
3 house parties a year with 20 or so friends for 3 different groups of friends.
Host slot car races with 12 or so racers 4 times year. Occasionally have a friend over for happy hour and dinner. 20 years ago we had a few 80 person parties and a wedding and reception in the backyard. But lost interest in hosting big parties as you never have enough time to talk to everyone.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1737693813.jpg |
