Acoustic guitar players!
Have any of you tried or played any of the high end hand made Eastman guitars? The E20D guitar is a Martin HD28 at Half the cost. Same with the E10D. Same as the D18. Solid woods , herring bone , the best woods, scalloped bracing. Huge clear sound.

Eastman's deliver a lot of guitar for the money. The comments on them are 99% positive. Another good guitar for the much is Furch. And Recording Kings are probably more guitar for the money. I think new ones with a good discount are a better way to go than used ones. If you can find some to play locally, that's good. You can read a lot of reviews and opinions at acousticguitarforum.com

No experience but I had a very nice D18 in the past and have an OM-21 currently. If the structure of the guitar is solid - meaning the neck joint and bracing are done correctly - a top shelf setup will get you so very very close. I would go for it. Guitarists are the most conservative and snobby bunch ever. (says the guy with a nice Martin!)

There's a strong anti-Chinese made guitar bias among a lot of them. Obviously, China can make stuff cheaper. The truth is, they can make perfectly good stuff as well.

Eastman, Recording King, and Seagull all make fine guitars that hit well above their price point. Worth an hour with one to see if you like em.

I've been a Furch fan since I bought my first in 2005. I've got a D41 SR (gloss finish), a D40 CM (satin). Both "violin back" and major banjo killers. They were part of the "Durango" series way back when, the CM is a Stonebridge which they went with to try and breakout in USA since "Furch" wasn't too appealing of a name.
I also have a Stonebridge DS34 CR which is a sunburst finish and a Furch 12 string. It was a deal too good to pass up. I also have a Furch OM CM that has a 1 11/16" nut that I'm going to sell. I prefer 1 3/4" and I've got too many guitars. ![]()

Yep. Played 2 sets today on my Indonesian PRS SE DGT today and it felt pretty great. Got several comments from other musicians that my tone was "on point" so I guess it was working. Not bad for $600 used.
