you are probably right but my kids are more nuanced. They much prefer having the tech they have now, but they say our music (60s-90s) was so much better than the current crop ! ;-)

Three months after this song was released....I turned 14.

What a time to be alive!

That sounds conflicted. If your idea of fun is building something etc then you are having fun.

But its not what is commonly considered fun.

That's the price of being an "uncommon" man. SmileWavy

Blowing up schitt as a kid with M-80s...

The joys of being a "common man" in training :D

Oh yes! I used to build model cars and then try to make them crash and burn in the most realistic way possible. I found out that a Black Cat firecracker, some tissue paper, and sawdust soaked in kerosene worked great. Big explosion followed by flames and then a smoldering ruin that gave of thick black smoke for several minutes.
Who says I didn't know how to have fun?

Working and fixing old cars is fun only as I am washing my hands and done with a project. To look at my antique 40 year old car, and KNOW it is in perfect shape and ready to go anywhere on cross country drives is indeed the fun part.

Right now, my 911 is on the lift. I had to have the alternator rebuilt. And "while I was in there" I decided to get the fan and housing ceracoated. The local place is taking forever to get it done. Hopeful next week, between snow storms I can go get it, and get my 911 finished. The alternator was rebuilt by a guy that grew up in the business his dad started. The old bearings were very crunchy. All ready for the spring!

That will be the really fun part. ;)

Its G.I. Joe confession time:
I Loved playing ARMY with my little plastic platoons of troops that got picked out of a Sears catalog.
THEN came G.I. Joe
Had quite a collection but a lot of them ended up severely disfigured from a variety of calamities.

You’re breakin’ my heart Glen. That scene is so cool. I used to love working on my cars. When I retired I put in a lift and lined up projects - then the arthritis ramped up. The bending and twisting you have to do to work on cars is so painful now that I can only stick with it an hour or two a day.
I’m seeing my back surgeon again tomorrow to see what’s up this time….

Glen's 911 is even better in person.

Here is me, headed to grade school in California (I signed a model release:))

Patrick - If you can put a couple hours in - trust me - you're doing great!

The aches and pains are simply a gift that reminds us that we continue to earn our accomplishments.

It's what keeps us going!

Keep chargin'.......:p

So true! I was shocked when I seen it.
Car looks like it should be sitting on the showroom floor.

Is that the way to school or coming home? Actually, it's the same.
