I've got the perfect watch for Bullit Paul!

We all know that pwd72s is concerned that wearing a Rolex will get a person mugged.

Now there's a solution to this issue. I kind of want one because this strikes me as pretty darn funny!

LOL! Love the "hand wash certified" on the dial. Nope, still would attract a mugger from a distance. I'll stick with my Hamilton King Khaki. Gosh, think I've had it nearly 20 years now. Still serving me well.

A search of watch reviews leads me to believe Swatch (owner of Hamilton, Omega, and others) still makes the Khaki King. Mine is an older style, all brushed stainless while the new one has a polished bezel. I prefer the brushed, since it hides my years of nicks & dings I've given the watch.

Anyway, here's a 5 minutes review..

Yep, I like the no-nonsense look of the vintage looking military style watches, always have.

That's what I'm thinking. Then, after the mugger realizes he's got a clown watch, may shoot you out of spite.

I like it enough to be thinking I'd probably buy another if mine got lost, destroyed, or stolen. Easy to read, gives time, date, and day. Not mugger bait, just functional. Oh, and mine's quartz for accuracy. Usually synch it to GMT on the 'puter when it needs the date changed. Last time I did that, it had gained 4 seconds over 2 months. Dunno if they still make it in quartz, tho... Price? Around 200 bucks, if I recall...think I bought it in 2005.

Maybe you can get a deal on a Humbleton.

Function over fashion for me...at my age, I'm not out to prove anything. Searching, can't seem to find a King Khaki in quartz. Being a stickler for accuracy, dunno what I'd buy should I need a replacement.

One of these shows as new. They all seem to be automatics on the Hamilton site.

I like Khakis. I recently got this one:

https://www.hamiltonwatch.com/en-us/h69529913-khaki-field-mechanical.html?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA8Lu9BhA8EiwAag16b4-RGn-iRF7BK_N9ze1tbNIdq32Zdh_mK_9o6nXBy1hvWOsKE7vTdRoCV-EQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

My watch guy Wayne is a Hamilton dealer. He sent me that one for 30% off and no tax since I'm out of state. He's in Nashville at King Jewelers. Dealt with him for many years. If he doesn't carry a brand, he can usually get it from someone he knows.

Let's face it..Hamilton pretty much owns the field watch category. Good choice. Simple, basic, readable, and about as tough as needed with 100 meters of water resistance. Plus, at first glance, muggers would look at it as a Timex. Understated quality is always cool as far as I'm concerned.

Many years ago a car salesman at Honda told us about a guy that made the rounds of dealerships every few months. Sold a knockoff watch branded as Bolex.

Yep, you read that correctly. Said except for the name it looked accurate.
