I have one just like this that I bought on Amazon. I can attest that they do indeed work. Ask me how I know.....well, I was fiddling with the flashlight lens to see if the focus was adjustable and I accidentally shocked myself. It has a safety switch but I had it in stun mode. The shock felt exactly like sticking your fingers in an electrical outlet and I had mild pain in my had for about 10 min.

It was my neighbor who introduced this to me as he uses his to ward off aggressive dogs. He was walking his own dog when two put bulls charged his dog. he now walks with the stun flashlight every time. Dogs hate the sound it makes and immediately retreat!

The stun gun part makes a loud electrical sound - similar to the Frankenstein electrical table. Dogs get very scared of it - as do humans. It will definitely startle anyone. It also has bright sparks when using the stun. I keep it in my truck.

The switch has three positions - up is flashlight on, middle is flashlight off, down is stun ready. On the back side (not shown in the photo) is a push button that activates the stun gun as long as the front switch is in the down position. There is also a safety switch in the rear that completely turns off the stun portion.

The one shown in the photo here looks like the smaller model. Mine is more like a 10" mag light. I would rather have the smaller version

Get Mace or Pepper spray. Some get other stuff to fend off bad guys but I would say do your research and see and if you can get a couple cans of Bear spray.

I just saw the sale in the Menard's email....the stun gun part surprised me.

No bad guys around here, bears are rare, skunks are the only animal I worry about.:)

As long as you are not seeing skunks in the day time, no problem

I got the wife El Diablo, looks like the flashlight pictured. Sound scares the dog, have not done any testing of it on anyone
