A lady friend called and complained to me about the advertisements that were up her rear at the gas station while filling up. This is after watching grand kids all day and on the way home so she's frazzled.

She will love to hear this one.

"Great idea! Go do it!"

Those idiots thought by jacking up the price the consumer would just go along with it, assume it's now "upscale"

They deserve every single bit of pain they have- and no taxpayer bailouts. Let capitalism do it's thing.

Kinda surprised that this isn't a 'thing' yet...not for kids, but for adults.

They send messages about that too. When it turns on most every time.
And "your lease is ending, press to call about new cars" the rest of the time.

This vehicle is truly the worst POS on the road.

Tell your lady friend that she can mute those ads.

It actually is a little bit. There are people that have won money for getting logos tattooed on themselves. I've seen a few stories about it in the past.

Good thing they quit making new music. I would hate for you guys that only listen to the music you have on your Zip drives to miss out.

You know what I really like about XM? The Chris Stapleton channel.

I have much of his music in Apple Music but last weekend he played a concert in NOLA and they’ve been streaming it since. Pretty friggin sweet.

The Tom Petty channel is pretty great too with lots of his live performances. Pretty sure he isn’t doing any more of those…

I don't remember when/where, but I heard this at some point and liked it. So I created a channel seeded with him in Pandora. I really like most of his stuff as well, and I'm not generally a country guy. Pandora has added some other artists that I do like, but have added some that sound too country that I don't like. And I can't tell you/vocalize what the difference is. I'm not sure if it's the way they sing, or the music or what.

I had 2-3 times that many CDs so not a ton in the grand scheme. I've known folks that had well over 1000 and even thousands (I probably could have if I'd stayed single). I've sold about 1/2 of them (kind of wish I'd kept them all, but not a big deal).

Years ago, I started with an iPod plugged into my stereo. At some point, I was able to use pandora on my phone and stopped carrying the iPod. I didn't have enough storage on my phone for my music. I've been paying for Pandora for years. I used it for free for a couple of years, but commercials started creeping in. It started at $5/mo. I think now it's $5.99/mo. Recently, I realized that my current phone has a TON of storage, so I put my music back on my phone and have been using it, but I listen to a lot of stuff on Pandora that I don't own, so I'm not giving that up. It's worth it for me to keep it at $6/mo. I think I could use Amazon music because I have Prime, but haven't ever tried.

another great one

And a song that was suggested on the same channel that I also like.

Sounds like Stellantis is throwing Sirus under the bus...

I'm sure they will come up with a monthly subscription to block the ads next... SMH

And yes, if I got ads on my infotainment system, I'd be PISSED!

HobieMarty 02-11-2025 02:49 PM

I like the channels that play songs that I know and can sing along with, but when I want to hear new stuff, I listen to XM channel 35, XMU.
Sadie by Goth Babe is a favorite of mine.

I don't spend a penny.

None of my cars have a touch screen and I don't have Sirius XM, no unwanted commercials for me.
I have over 700 CD's and 11,000 tunes on my iPod. So, listening in my car is limited to Oldies, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Opera, Blues, Reggae and the like.

And I don't spend a penny either, unless you count the considerable investment spread out over the years. In fact, if I took all the money I spent, I could subscribe to Pandora and Spotify for a several hundred years. Maybe the streamers are right, and I am wrong.

Just bragging now but I have never heard a song by Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Kendric Lamar, Kanye, or most of the autotuned "musicians" of today. I only know about them because their names are all over everything these days.
I know I miss out on the new stuff, but it all seems to suck anyway.

This. If someone held a gun to my head and said I have to name a single Taylor Swift song, or Beyonce song they would have to shoot me.

I hope to never ever hear the baby shark song, (so far so good) or any more of the
tech music" of just endless thump thump thump. Get off my lawn!

I'm open minded. I like both kinds of music, Country *and* Western.
