Interesting video about Internet scammer with a good ending

I've seen a couple of this guy's videos. He's a wood worker. Someone copied his website and scammed someone out of $17,000 for a table. So this has woodworking content because he makes the table for the person that was scammed and it's got info about the scam.

synopsis: This guy has a YT channel where he makes furniture. Some folks on the Internet setup fake copies of his page that they use to scam people. Some lady got scammed out of $17,000 for a big river table. The way the guy found out is because a detective contacted him to make sure that he wasn't the guy that scammed the lady. The guys website is blacktailstudio.com, and the scammers created a copy of his site at blacktailstudios.com.

So once he found out about it, he started looking into it and found a bunch of instances of people using his name/info to scam people and learn about the scams. He eventually thought, "I can't get her money back, but I can make her table." He got a lumber guy to donate the wood. He spoke to the detective who had the various texts/messages between the lady and the scammer who provided descriptions and photos of what the lady wanted. He then made the table and sent the table to the PD and flew out there. The detective called the lady in to talk to her, and that was their big reveal to her, "here's the real guy" and "I made your table."

What's extra great about this video is that the guy that did the video posted the contact info of the scammer and said "protect yourself, but if you've got time to screw with a scammer, have fun" and then posted the scammers contact info. He also set up a reddit for folks to talk about scamming scammers. I don't have that sort of free time, and I don't want to engage with scammers to screw with them, but I tihnk it's awesome that there are folks that do.

Not a scammer per se, but in these clips you see the wife of the fellow I buy wood from...

A shipper they used in the past stole a table they made for someone in Illinois, the crazy thing is, is that they have used the guy in the past and have all sorts of contact info and video proof..

BTW, they went above and beyond... and made a replacement table for the customer..

Thief part 1

Thief part2

If you're interested in a really unique piece of furniture/art I recommend these guys.... even though I make some really nice tables/furniture/art myself

Did the cops ever find the guy or was he ever prosecuted?
