High Tech Sailboat

Getting in the mindset for summer sailing and came across the video. This is a very nice vessel with such nice sleek lines, and the boat isn't bad either. [emoji1787] Sent from my SM-S916U using Tapatalk |
So, 110 feet, what figure $250m? Carbon fiber floors? Seem too slick if your feet are wet, just saying
|
Yeah, but it sure looks cool. All that weight savings means you can haul more booze, hookers, and blow. [emoji1787]

Looks like quite the rocket ship on the water. I still prefer a small multi.

Wow - thanks for sharing that.
This looks a tad more practical and maybe closer to my budget: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/S7POGW80Ge0?si=7KkJoh4Rk2b0Prd8" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Yeah, that hull looks like a racing design with the wave piercing bow and triangular shape that gets wider toward the stern. It also has a retractable keel when in shallow water. Hmmm, we know what happens when the keel is raised and a bad storm comes along. Remember the Bayesian?

My family went on a cruise to the Bahamas in November of 1984 on the ship SS Emerald Seas. A tropical storm had moved through the area a few days before we departed, and the gulf stream was all churned up. This was a 600-foot ship, and it was rolling so much that the crew had placed "barf bags" all along hallways and common areas. I remember being at dinner that night, and the dining room cleared out with people getting sick. I wasn't phased at all by the motion and ate a fillet mignon that night, and it was delicious [emoji39]

That's a great boat!
Sailing is a wet sport 10/19/96, Long Island Sound heading 270 I had this 95" schooner surfing , we were doing ~30Knts over the bottom, w/ a storm jib and reefed main and fore sails, this storm delayed the World Series in the Bronx w/ extreme flooding along the Conn and LI coasts http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1740427868.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1740427868.jpg |

Wish I had more pics but it seems that when it was exciting and picturesque there was too much other stuff to do. Most memorable was J24 Eastcoast's in Annapolis, 120 boat fleet in some really nasty weather, we beat 121 of them them and the view of the fleet spread across the Chesepeak behind us was was amazing |
