Non-fiction book recommendations?

Anyone have non-fiction book recommendations to listen to while driving?

Here are some I've recently listened to that I recommend:

The Hard Thing About Hard Things
Guns, Germs and Steel
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Thank You for Being Late
Factfulness
Steve Jobs

I'll be checking that out. I just read the free Kindle sample. I'll be reading this after I finish the first book linked below. I'm good at certain types of communication, but hopeless at others. I'm hoping between the three books in this post, I'll be able to get up to some reasonable level of being a more well rounded communicator.

I've seen this 1000x and this is a direct quote from the book.

Quote:
This explains why, when you complain about your boss—“Jim is driving me crazy!”—and your spouse responds with a practical suggestion—“What if you just invited him to lunch?”—it’s more apt to create conflict than connection: “I’m not asking you to solve this! I just want some empathy.”

Duhigg, Charles (2024). Supercommunicators: How to Unlock the Secret Language of Connection (Function). Kindle Edition.
That's me, 99.999% of the time. I'm the one that always responds with a practical suggestion on how to fix the situation.

I think the book Shawn mentioned is going to be along the same lines as the two books below.

Books by Vanessa Van Edwards. I'm reading this first one right now

I'll probably read this one next (or maybe Supercommunicators).
Another is Cues

I think you will enjoy it Steve. I'm only a quarter into it, carving out quality time to read (not fall asleep) has been a challenge. I have realized that this is, for me, a book I will need to read twice. Once to read it and once to get it. Worth the investment I think.

Thanks for the tips, I've downloaded Supercommunicators so far, that should get me through this week's road trip.

I've been doing a lot of driving to visit my mom 3 hours away every few weeks and just started doing audio books. I enjoy it so much that I've started turning them on every time I'm in the car alone and wishing I'd started this earlier. I've never been a big reader so I'm trying to concentrate on business or self-help books to catch up with my work peers who are more avid readers.

My wife doesn't like to listen to books (she wants to talk on road trips?!?!?) but she did really like the Steve Jobs biography.

I'd be remiss without mentioning my favorite non-fiction book: The Unfair Advantage by Mark Donohue. Unfortunately it's not available on Audible. I re-read it every few years and catch something I've missed in previous readings.

I've heard that one mentioned many times. I'll have to check it out.

Not sure if it is available as a audio book but "Ignition, the history of rocket fuels" is great.
