I thought he would retire a Bruin.
Flames made no moves. They have done surprisingly well considering they were predicted to be leading the race for the first draft pick this year.

Flames are still in the WC race! Dallas will be a team that’s very tough to beat. However a couple of really good teams will be gone after 1st round (in both conferences) so if you get by that anything can happen.

Much as I hate to admit it - Marchie is a good addition to an already potent team. The "Canuckleheads" didn't make any significant trade moves. If they manage to squeak into the playoffs, it'll be a "one & done" scenario. Oh well, another year straight into the dumper.
Side note: bring on the playoffs as the pace in most games now broadcast is significantly (understandably) slower when compared to the 4-Nations tournament. I think we may have all been spoiled a little by calibre of hockey played then. Cheers JB

Make Bruins Great Again
|
![]() He is loved by the hometown team and hated at the other 31. The word is that he was hold out for a 3 year deal and the team finally agreed to the 3 years but Marchand wouldn't take the $ they offered. I am surprised considering he has played his entire NHL career in Boston, said he wanted retire in Boston, and was an icon of the team as well as team captain. The Bruins have had a great track record of getting top notch players to take the "hometown discount" on their salary (Chara, Bergeron, Krejci as recent examples) so it was a shock to me that he didn't stay. I'll still say I'm a fan of his but I guess I'll have to put this in the closet: ![]()
