^^^ :D
Back in the early 70's, I was available to work and got involved with a couple different times of laying hen rescues after thunderstorms. Most all coops at that time had suspended cages from the roof so that the owner could drive a skid steer under them to clean up the manure...every day. Sometimes when a bad t-storm would pass thru, all the hens would jump at the same time when thunder cracked. When they landed, the cages would either break or pull the roof down. I was part of the crew to pull the hens out of the cages and stuff them into a waiting truck. Thousands of flapping/****ting birds until they were all gone. I'll never forget the smell. |
