Size 12 shoes is a challenge in older European cars. It's not so bad on my Porsches, but the '65 VW is tight.
When my '88 coupe doesn't start (happened twice in 20 years) I swap out the fuel pump relay. Fixed it both times. (I have an electronic one now. Thanks for the tip Glen) |

^good advice.
When I was pulling out the front trunk carpets to get at the tank, a spare relay fell on the ground. And a fan pulley belt. I think I've got some relays in the glove box too. I'm figuring the one up front was a spare fuel pump relay, but what I really need to do is sort through them all and see what I've got. I had this car pretty well figured out 10 years ago, but have forgotten what goes where. Spending too much time in off topic can do that to ya. A refresher is in order.:D |

Actually, you're correct. Thought you were referring to the round fuel pump relay...but motronic cars only have the DME relay, which does control the fuel pump.

Today I put my summer wheels back on the Cayenne. 3 went just fine, passenger front wouldn’t come off. Fronts are press fitted onto the hub so you need to hit the inside tire wall with a sledge hammer to break the wheel off the hub. Many whacks later with no love I get a 30” pry bar and try to pry the wheel off
The hub. Nothing. I sat back puzzled and noticed all the lug bolts still in the wheel. |
^^^^ Too funny, Shaun! 😂

Are they literally a "Press Fit?" I know hub centric wheels can sometimes stick due to corrosion, especially with alloy wheels on steel hubs, but I've never encountered any that were supposed to be a Press Fit. I've never paid that much attention, but always thought they were a Free to Loose fit. |

Side note, Pirelli tires suck. I can't wait to get one last summer out of these things and if I could find some used Michelins for cheap I'd buy them in a heartbeat. |
I know this is not p car, but I broke down at the McDonalds drive through order sign last night . I took my Dads clk 320 out of storage last night . Took the kid out for a night of video games , then some McDonalds ( I dont eat any of it).
The car went into limp mode pulling into the parking lot . Pulled up to the window, ordered, and when I went to pull away, it would not move .. no forward or reverse . McDonalds workers came out to help me push it into a parking spot . I was planning to get an uber for a ride home to get the tow truck, but after it cooled off, It went back into gear and made it home . |

I did a couple things on the E46 330 the other day, and was so weird to sit in the drivers race seat, after a month of not driving it. So totally different than my DD 2014 F150 and the 911. I need to start driving it more, because I’m taking it to VIR next month. |
