First bike ride and turtle outing of 2025
Temps went from 30's to 70's in less than a week. First bike ride (10 miles) for me in MI this season. (biked a few times in the winter in FL) A little windy, but still fun.
Beautiful sunny day...moved the turtles and fish out to the pond. Within a few minutes the turtles were soaking up the sun on the landing. They basically ate nothing all winter and still didn't go for their food yet today. The fish ate as usual. Mid March means we will still get snow and the pond might freeze over...but it won't freeze solid. :) |
Spring is a great time of year
Did my first outdoor ride of the year too |
"It will be warm" they said. "It will be sunny" they said. Well, not quite either. 43 and light drizzle. Got out anyway!:D

Today was as warm as yesterday.(70's)....except wind gusts of up to 50 mph.
Hydro has been out since noon and the restoration time is Sunday am. . |

I have quite a few mature trees in my yard.... The wind shook out every small dead limb in there. Nothing over the size of my wrist but I've got a lot of cleanup to do. :) |
I went on a couple of rides in LA in January with my friend, but I got my first real (meaning non-transportation) ride of the year in last weekend. Wasn’t a lot (45 miles) but felt good. I’d hoped to get another one in today but, while warm, it was extremely windy and I didn’t feel like fighting it on the return leg. I want to do a 300k brevet this year, which means doing another 200k first, and I need to get some miles in. I can do a 200k off the couch but I’ll enjoy both more with a higher baseline. I’m not super fast but I can churn along at a moderate pace for a long time.

Somewhere under the ice shelf are 4 turtles and 7 fish. :)
Pic taken 5 minutes ago. If the ice broke up, the sun is out and they could warm up by getting out of the water. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1742227164.jpg |
