Toronto Indy moving to the Burbs!! Markham. Too bad they didn’t go further east to Mosport. Interested to see what the circuit will be.

Is it that Mosport lacks current-day safety features like large enough run-off areas, etc.? That's what I recall from why the IMSA GTP cars don't race there. I'd been there several times in the 80s and always thought it was a cool track.
Also, looks like Grosjean is heading back to Dale Coyne. Like him or not, I think he adds excitement to the grid and certainly has the pedigree ![]()

I think it's more a 'training' year to learn the car and if the F2 drive comes to be (sounds like it will) to learn the tracks in preparation for a 2027 drive.

That’s great news for Colton. I think it was more of a now or never thing for him. He will be up for a new challenge and actually this is good for the sport of F1.

Now or never is right. It'll be very interesting to see him compared to the Europeans.

Will Power gave Penske 2 titles in 17 years of racing, he had a decent season this year - often as not let down by the car - and is now being let go.
I've always held Penske to a high regard, but lately I'm wondering if my support is misplaced. The whole organization have been stepping on a lot of rakes lately.

According to Power and Penske, it was Power's decision to leave. I think he needed a re-boot and when a top seat became available it was time to jump. Maybe he saw the handwriting on the wall with Malukus and made the move before Penske had to?

Well, now we know from the horse's mouth, Dan Towriss. Power asked Roger Penske at Road America if he could talk to other teams. Roger said yes. Power went to Towriss and said 'I want to drive for Andretti'. At that point, Towriss started putting the idea of Herta as their F1 test driver together. Power's deal is multi-year.

![]() It could have been that Penske didn't really want Power to stick around and he agreed to let the press know that it was Powers' idea. Power has more value as a driver that walked away rather than being dumped. Maybe?

The idea that Roger Penske is letting his drivers dictate their status is crazy. Powers body language the last few races said it all. Likely Penske told him mid-year he doesn't see a path forward for Power and that he should start making other plans for a graceful exit |

Worth reading today's Racer.com piece on this-Penske offered Power a one year deal and Will understandably turned it down. The article is a really terrific summary of why Power is often so underrated.

According to Power on Off-Track with Hinch & Rossi, it actually started back in 2024 season when he had 3 wins (Palou only had 2 and won the championship) and he did not feel he got the recognition or appreciation he deserved from the team. So I guess you could say he was sort of forced out although he was offered a 1-year contract. I think Penske already had their sights set on a much younger driver with a long potential future in Malukus. We'll see if that pans out.
For those who haven't watch it yet, Off-Track was good with interviews with Dan Towriss, Herta, and Power.
