Need Firewall Advice (Latest)

Does any one here use 'Bitdefender' & their VPN package? I am having nothing but dumb-a$$ed issues with this package. It constantly turns off VPN & I have to constantly re-start to get going again. It shuts off on Pelican, google, & other popular automotive sites more times than I care. I've jumped through all of 'bitdefender's' hoops, but the problems persist. A search didn't seem to help much so with that in mind, does anybody have any advice or recommendations of alternate packages?

Thanks & Cheers
JB

Before I start giving advice, tell more:

What hardware and OS version are you running?

What networking gear are you using (router, modem, access points, etc.).

Do you have QoS, VLANs or anything else slightly fancy going on?

What other things are on your network (IOT, etc.)?

What browser do you use? Do you run an ad blocker?

Why are you running a VPN?

I don't know why, but I clicked this link expecting something else.

Like EM said, we need lots more info. I haven't run anything other than the stock firewall on Windows in a LOOOONG time, probably since Win XP, and then I tried Zonealarm and another one. But that was just a firewall, not a VPN.

I'm assuming that you're using the VPN either to try to be more anonymous online and/or to bypass the "you can only watch ____ for free if you're from <someplace other than where you are>.

Presumably, you don't really need the firewall. You probably only "need" the VPN which probably gives you more options. But I don't run a VPN (at least, not that type). There are some other VPN threads here.

What are you using the vpn for? Unless you are really tunneling to a private network or using it for location shifting then it isnt really doing anything for you ....

It appears from the foregoing comments/queries I have made an error in judgement regarding previous advice on the purchase of an unnecessary package for my rather basic needs. I shall defer to Steve's choice of running windows 'stock' firewall & dump the VPN & current package provider. Your inputs are much appreciated

Thank you Gentleman
Cheers
