intersting fact, Potomac PCA region was the first club to use the revamped VIR in the day. Ran the short course.

We used to run with the Potomac PCA at VIR once or twice a year back in the 2000s.
NNJ PCA was another one group we ran with at VIR. Both groups ran the full course and it was great. I’ll be back at VIR in a couple of weeks with the North Carolina region BMWCCA. |

Have fun Rocket! I thought the Oak Tree was toppled in straight line winds a few years ago? Saw the title on the vid....
What a cool place ... |

Nothing to do with anything…but these are probably 30 years old!

Thank you. Spent around 10 years as the Potomac Region chief steward. Great times, great folks, great fun. Did have a few oops, with drivers being a bit too early in 5. I went back for a session in around 2012 and was shocked at the state of the Oak Tree. How the track let that die is beyond me. Spending my time as safety chair in AZ. VIR is such a great track with history. It is good to see it is still open to all. Hearing that Willow Springs was sold to the same rich bozos that own Thermal and that they plan on taking that iconic track private.

It was certainly a well known corner. ![]() |
