I can check, was accurate when I took it off in 1993.

My mother had me bring her Rolex in for a complete service. She complained that it didn't keep good time.
At 91 years old I had to remind her everyday that it was because it was self winding and she wasn't active enough to keep it going.

Amazing engineering, but is it important?

It is super cool tech.

IMO the primary appeal of Grand Seiko is their very cool dials. The Spring Drive is a nice bonus.

You do have to love the ability to use NTP!

I go through all of the "free" NTP servers, and check my latency and jitter to them and then pick the 3 with the best jitter and lowest latency to sync to. Yeah, I'm a nerd.

Yeah, I want to get a new one, but my old one is still ticking along. I've got a Series 3 that I bought in 2018. It still works, and I use it all of the time for all sorts of stuff. I use the built in timers almost daily. Because I have and wear the watch, my phone is in silent (vibrate only) mode 99.99% of the time. I get alerts on it. I've used it for navigation purposes when wandering around unfamiliar cities. Etc...
