I'd seen then in the Porsche dealership but never seen one in real life.

One day back in the 1970's while on my TX 650 with Dunstall exhaust, which I thought was apretty fast motorbike LOL, I saw a Porsche 911 going up the motorway in a steep hill section. I thought yay, a worthy competitor. Phew, it left me, the 650 could not keep up with it, and I thought one day I'm going to own one of these things. So I went from being a petrolhead to being a Porsche nut in one failed race.

Forever? I can’t recall not being into cars. I always had Hot Wheels as a kid and remember always reading car magazines cover to cover.

Mine started pretty early. My father liked Studebakers, so naturally I thought they were pretty cool! During High school, my father bought a Studebaker pickup that had been modified and raced by a local mechanic and brought it home to use as a work truck. It had tuck and roll interior and a bunch of chrome in the engine compartment. It made me want to make it faster. I then found the 53 Starliner attractive, bought several from junk yardshttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1744040714.jpg and built one with the drive train from the race truck. Went to college and found a TR-3 for sale for a couple of hundred bucks and brought it home.

After college, Army posted me to Germany and before I even saw one, I ordered a 914/6 for delivery in Brussels. Still Have it.

My son and I then built another Studebaker Transtar pickup and displayed it at SEMA and Starbird car shows. It features part of the original pickup drivetrain and the 4 speed and Blower from one of my friend's Daytona.

The car bug was passed to my son and grandson, as they have a lot of blood and sweat equity in keeping these cars alive.

Passing it on is the really fun part. My 21 year old son is car interested but not obsessed, he likes having a cool car (C6 Corvette), does his own wrenching, but isn’t interested in spending every waking hour tinkering, researching, etc. My 14 year youngest is obsessed, he’s constantly watching YouTube videos and sending me random questions about turbocharging the engine swaps.:D We are going to have fun with his first car.

As a kid slot cars and homemade go karts.
At 16 years old was bracket racing my old slow VW at an OCIR Bug In.
Still racing slot cars and full sized cars today. :)

Oh man, I forgot about slot cars! I also loved RC cars but could never get the RC10 that I wanted because my parents were poor. So my boys had a nice collection for them (and me:)) of Traxxas cars and trucks to enjoy.
